About Us
2 GUYS: 1 otaku + 1 non otaku. In college. Started making a few anime tees under the name “ComicSense” in 2016.
7 YEARS later: 29 otaku + 1 non otaku (yes, still. I am trying though). 30+ Categories. 2000+ Products. Insta deleted 5 times (twice at 70k).
It has been a long and mostly a fun journey and now we want to take it a step further.
Enters: XENPACHI | Year: 2023 Xenpachi is kind of an experiment where we use every ounce of our experience in this industry so far and make the best possible merch. Merch that makes sense. Merch that is not just an artwork copy pasted. Merch that looks good as whole when one is wearing it even before you realise there is some anime relateddesignart printed on it.
We also want to try a different approach to how we work. All of us have been working our ass off for years to the point where even just watching anime started feeling like work. We live/love anime and Japan but not so much that we started having the Japanese work culture too (no offence). We got so busy making lot of merch, then doing shoots for them, then making posts for them, then stories, then ads, then reels, then reminder posts…. all just to stay relevant in the industry where apparently everyone wants to make anime merch.
With Xenpachi we want to make merch that sells itself. Merch that’s so rare that you would want to turn on your post notification on insta (Xenpachi’s insta) or you will miss your chance to buy it. Merch that doesn’t require so much post and repost and other fancy shit just to be visible. Merch that’s once made can let us rest and watch anime in peace.
ComicSense will stay as it is. The core where we try new & affordable stuff for every Indian otaku but Xenpachi would aim for global domination with Xenpachi.com. Here we will launch merch when it’s ready and worth the “Xenpachi” tag.
PS: We hope this works. Or we are closing this and moving to the mountains permanently. They have been calling us for far too long now.
